Daini Launches Palliative Care Programme, Distributes 3,000 Food Bag To Residents

In the course to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area, today distributed no fewer than 3,000 Palliatives Packs to vulnerable people within the LCDA.

Daini who had earlier this week initiated the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Food Bank stressed that the Palliative Care Programme will run for six months before another phase surfaces.

The Chairman in his remark stated that the program is majorly for the most vulnerable residents within the Local Council. "The launch of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area Palliative Care Programme is a course to support our citizens and residents against the hardship currently running in the country." Daini stated. 


In addition, he expressed that his administration share in the pain of the people and are going to remain committed to ease their pains through interventions.

Speaking at the event was the former commissioner of Agriculture, Chief Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, he commended the chairman for initiating the Food Bank Programme and stated that it will ultimately ease people of some hardship and bring smile to their face.

At the launch were Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, APC chieftain, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, GAC chieftain who was represented by the Secretary of the APC, Hon. Maja, Vice Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Yeye Basorun, former Sole Administrator, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon Sefiu Ogunyemi, APC leader, Hon. Gbenga Basanya, former Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, former representative, Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Taiwo Orenuga, APC chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Mr Balogun, DPO, Ikorodu Divisional Police headquarters among others.

We are also going to be releasing a phone number that people can send names of people that they are nominating to benefit too. If you know any old person or vulnerable in your environment, just send their details to the number: name, address, phone number, NIN number and the CDA the person belongs to. Send the details to this number and such will be captured in our food program and the food items will be delivered to that person at home”, he said.

“What we intend to achieve through that is to see to it that what we are sharing gets to our old people and others”, he said.
