Eid-el-Kabir: Senator Abiru Reaches 12,000 Lagos East Households with Food Packs in Massive Welfare Drive

In the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, has extended a generous hand to thousands of constituents through the distribution of food packs to 12,000 households across the district’s 16 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LGs and LCDAs).

The impactful outreach, held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, also included the donation of 75 cows and 200 rams to traditional rulers, religious leaders, party stalwarts, and key community stakeholders in recognition of their roles in community cohesion and development.

Each food pack—containing staples such as rice and garri—was emblazoned with the names of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Senator Abiru, symbolizing solidarity with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the federal government’s efforts at ensuring food security and social relief.

This initiative is one of many under Senator Abiru’s widely praised #DoingGood campaign, with this festive edition specially tailored to support vulnerable groups, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, unemployed youths, and low-income women. Notably, many beneficiaries were selected through a transparent online nomination process, underscoring the senator’s commitment to inclusive governance.

Speaking at the distribution hub located at his Ikorodu constituency office, Senator Abiru highlighted the importance of showing empathy and delivering meaningful support during trying economic times:

The gesture was met with widespread commendation, including from Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and apex leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ikorodu Division, who praised Senator Abiru’s consistency in delivering value-driven and people-centered initiatives.

From digital skill empowerment and education grants to business support and community health interventions, Senator Abiru continues to cement his legacy as a servant-leader driven by compassion, innovation, and sustainable impact.

His Eid-el-Kabir intervention is yet another testament to his unwavering commitment to uplifting lives and communities, one impactful initiative at a time.
