In a bid to improve hygiene and promote a healthy learning environment, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) commissioned a newly constructed block of eight toilet units at Methodist Primary School Elepe.
The project, spearheaded by the council under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Bldr. Olusesan Daini, is part of ongoing efforts to upgrade public facilities in primary schools across the LCDA. The initiative aims to foster better sanitary practices among the students, contributing to overall well-being and academic performance.
Speaking at the commissioning, Bldr. Daini, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Nuraini Okedina Maja emphasized the importance of proper sanitation in schools. He noted that the provision of these facilities will not only reduce the risk of hygiene-related diseases but also improve students’ attendance and comfort during school hours.
The headteacher of Methodist Primary School I, Mrs. Ajala E.B lauded the effort, describing it as a timely intervention to meet the growing population of students. Also at the commissioning, Mrs. Oguntunde E.O, Headteacher of Methodist Primary School II, emphasized the positive impact of improved sanitation on student well-being.
Mrs. Smith T.K, representing the Executive Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), expressed gratitude for the collaboration and support for educational facilities initiated and facilitated by the administration of Bldr. Olusesan Daini.
Hon. Habib Anifiwose, councilor representing Ward C4 expressed that this development comes as part of a broader agenda by Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA to enhance infrastructure in public schools and provide a conducive learning environment for young learners in the community.
