Jimi Benson Shares Presidency Swift Actions Against Economic Downturn with Constituents

Hon. Babajimi Benson earlier today in a meeting with party executives at his constituency office in Ikorodu revealed that President Tinubu has actively been working to resolve the long-standing economic issues that have adversely affected various industries and ministries in the nation. .

Benson in his feedbacks, highlighted the president's commitment to addressing the present economic conditions of the nation stating the establishment of a strategic Special Presidential Committee on Emergency Food Intervention by the Presidency with its aims to ensure a steady supply of food resources across all states in the nation. 

Also, He gave highlights on Mr. President’s recent swift action that addresses the lingering issue of high cost of food items in the country with a directive for the immediate release of 102,000 metric tonnes of rice, maize, millet and garri from government reserves and stores of the rice millers to the Nigerian market. This was the highpoint of the three-day long meeting of the Special Presidential Committee on Emergency Food Intervention headed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, which ended on Thursday evening at the State, Abuja. The move is seen as a step towards mitigating the impact of economic difficulties on citizens.

Furthermore, Hon. Jimi Benson who recently passed a bill at the National Assembly for the reduction in electricity bill reiterated that President Tinubu has urged all governors to prioritize tackling economic degradation. As part of this effort, governors have been advised to temporarily suspend capital projects and focus on implementing measures that will contribute to the overall economic recovery.

The House of Representatives member mentioned that the votes of his constituents were not regrettable rather, they are well appreciated along with their crucial role during the general election. 

He concluded by emphasizing the need for continuous support to the government.
