IGBOGBO/BAIYEKU LCDA BEGIN CHOLERA ADVOCACY AWARENESS

In an effort to safeguard the health and well-being of the good people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) embarked on an extensive Cholera Advocacy Awareness Campaign. This initiative, directed by the Executive Chairman, Bldr. Olusesan Daini, aims to educate and sensitize residents across all wards within the LCDA, targeting schools, markets, and communities at large.

Cholera, an acute diarrheal illness caused by infection of the intestine, remains a significant public health concern, particularly in regions with inadequate access to clean water and sanitation. Recognizing the critical need for proactive measures, the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA has mobilized resources and expertise to combat the spread of this disease through comprehensive public education and awareness.

The objectives of the Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Advocacy Awareness on Cholera include, Public Education and Sensitization, Distribution of Hygiene kits, Collaboration with Health Professionals, Media and Communication. 

As part of the advocacy, the Chairman and his team personally visited all government schools and markets across the LCDA. During these visits, they engaged directly with students, teachers, market vendors, and the community at large, emphasizing the importance of hygiene, clean water, and proper sanitation. These visits underscored the administration’s hands-on approach and commitment to combating cholera at the grassroots level.

By educating our residents, providing necessary resources, and fostering collaborations, we aim to create a healthier and more resilient Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. Together, we can prevent cholera and protect our loved ones from its devastating effects." Daini said. 

Daini urged all residents to actively participate in the awareness programs and adhere to the preventive measures outlined during the sensitization. Stating that the cooperation of the people is crucial in ensuring the success of this initiative and safeguarding the health of our community.
