As the world marks International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, Hon. Salau Rukayat Ibukun Ajibike, the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Ikorodu West LCDA, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to all the phenomenal women within the LCDA and beyond.

In a statement commemorating the global celebration, Hon. Ajibike emphasized the importance of unity in advancing gender equality, aligning with this year’s theme: “Together We Can Forge Women’s Equality.” She noted that while significant strides have been made in empowering women, true progress can only be achieved when society collectively commits to breaking barriers and fostering opportunities for women to thrive.

“International Women’s Day serves as a powerful reminder that gender equality is not just a women’s issue—it is a societal responsibility. By uniting our efforts, we can #AccelerateAction and create a more inclusive and equitable world where women are empowered to reach their full potential,” she stated.

Hon. Ajibike further called for continued advocacy, support, and investment in initiatives that uplift women, particularly in areas of economic empowerment, education, and leadership. She urged individuals, organizations, and policymakers to prioritize policies that ensure women’s voices are heard and their contributions are recognized.

As the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, she reaffirmed her commitment to championing programs that address the needs of women in Ikorodu West LCDA, ensuring they have access to the resources and opportunities necessary for sustainable growth and development.

“Let us use this day as a catalyst for action. Let us commit to a future where every woman, regardless of background or status, has the opportunity to succeed. Together, we can build a society where gender equality is not just a goal, but a reality,” she concluded.
