IBLCDA Chairman Hails Teachers on World Teachers' Day, Pledges Support for Education Sector

Says investing in teachers is investing in Igbogbo/Baiyeku's future

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, has extended heartfelt congratulations to teachers in the council area, across Lagos State and throughout Nigeria, as the world marks Teachers' Day.

In a goodwill message, the Chairman described teachers as the foundation on which society is built, noting that every doctor, engineer, public servant, artisan and leader first learned to read, reason and dream in a classroom.

"Your patience, sacrifice and quiet dedication shape the minds and character of our children, and through them, the future of our communities and our nation," he said.

Aroyewun acknowledged that the work of teachers often extends well beyond the classroom, as many counsel, mentor and encourage pupils, and at times stand in as parents to the young people in their care.

He stressed that the impact of teachers cannot be measured by a single day's recognition, but assured them that their efforts are seen, valued and deeply appreciated.

The Chairman also reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to supporting the education sector and the welfare of those who serve in it.

"Investing in teachers is investing in the future of Igbogbo/Baiyeku," he stated.

He thanked teachers for the guidance, the example they set and the lessons they share every day, and prayed that they would be rewarded abundantly for their "labour of love."

"Happy Teachers' Day!" he concluded.
